Wake Up Your Skin with This DIY Coffee Scrub

If you love the smell of coffee in the morning, you’ll love what it can do for your skin too.

This simple, homemade coffee scrub is more than just a feel-good ritual — it gently exfoliates, boosts circulation, and may even help smooth the appearance of cellulite. Plus, it’s completely natural and can be used on your body and lips for soft, glowing skin.

Let’s Talk Cellulite

Cellulite is incredibly common 80% to 90% of women have it. It’s natural, normal, and nothing to be ashamed of.

Still, if you’re looking to smooth and nourish your skin in a gentle, holistic way, caffeine may offer a little help. Some studies suggest that when applied topically, caffeine can temporarily tighten skin and improve circulation - although results are mixed, and usually involve other ingredients like retinol.

That said, coffee grounds make a gorgeous exfoliant - lifting away dead skin cells to leave your skin soft, silky, and refreshed.

DIY Coffee Scrub Recipe

You’ll Need:

• ½ cup coffee grounds (used or fresh - I buy organic beans)

• 2 tbsp hot water

• 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted

To Make:

1. Add the coffee grounds and hot water to a bowl and stir well.

2. Mix in the coconut oil. Adjust with more grounds or oil until you get a thick, scrubby consistency.

3. Spoon into a clean, dry jar and use within a week.

How to Use

Massage gently onto damp skin in circular motions - thighs, arms, lips - anywhere that needs a little love. Rinse well and pat dry. Use 2–3 times a week for best results.

Bonus tip: This scrub is safe and nourishing enough for your lips, especially during dry winter months.

Taking care of your skin isn’t about “fixing” anything - it’s about honouring your body and creating small moments of self-love.

Let this be one of them!
